What is I-Share?
Access to the I-Share system is a free service offered to Rush University Medical Center students, faculty and staff. Rush users can borrow print materials from other academic and institutional libraries in Illinois by placing a request via our online catalog or by visiting an I-Share library. Generally, most I-Share items are lent under the same terms as items borrowed from Rush, but the lending library determines which items can be requested. Textbooks, materials held in a library's reference or reserve collections or other special collections are usually not requestable. The I-Share service is used to borrow physical materials only; it does not provide access to other institutions' electronic resources or e-books, and cannot be used to request journal articles or book chapters (for journal articles or book chapters,, use ILLiad, Rush's interlibrary loan service).
|Items||Loan Periods||Fines and fees*|

|Other items||4 weeks, with 3 renewals||I-Share libraries do not charge late fees. Fines for loss and damage set by lending library.|
*Fines should be paid to the lending library. Rush does not collect fines on behalf of other libraries in the I-Share network.
