Who needs the Group Code

Rush RefWorks users will not be required to use the Group Code to access RefWorks when not on site. This improvement comes at the request of numerous RefWorks users.

Current RefWorks users: simply log in to your RefWorks account as you have done in the past. The removal of the Group Code will not affect how you normally log in to your account.

In some cases the group code will still be needed

New RefWorks users:
Individuals creating a new RefWorks account must be on-campus or accessing RefWorks through proxy server when initially creating an account.

Distance students: If you are creating a new RefWorks account contact the Library Service Desk by phone so that staff may assist you: (312) 942-5950. Desk staff are availalble until Midnight seven days a week (except for select holidays). You may be asked to verify your affilation with Rush.

Write-n-Cite: The RefWorks development team will be removing the need for the Group Code when logging in to Write-N-Cite 4 in an upcoming release.  Until then, users will log in with Write-N-Cite using the current method: Group Code/login name/password

Write-N-Cite III users must loggin in with their Group Code/login name/password. There are no plans to remove the Group Code requirement from the Write-N-Cite III login page.
