Check out the latest Library Bytes: 3 bytes of Library news you can use
As many as 26 people are responsible for providing the services and resources the Library and the McCormick Educational Technology Center offer. You may be surprised by that number. As academic health sciences libraries go we are small- but we are mighty! And we are proud to serve the RUMC community.
CANCELLED JOURNALS 2014
Thursday, January 30th
Every year, we review our usage statistics to determine those journals with low usage. Cancelling such journals helps us stay within our budget and also gives us the opportunity to consider adding other titles that we hope will have greater usage at a lesser cost.
For the calendar year, we cancelled three titles:
• Pediatric Research
• The Patient: Patient-Centered Outcomes Research
• Chicago Defender
Additionally, the Journal of the National Medical Association was suspended by the publisher; this has the effect of cancellation, although not on our part.
The RefWorks Group Code is no longer needed!
December 12, 2013
Rush RefWorks users will not be required to use the Group Code to access RefWorks when not on site. This improvement comes at the request of numerous RefWorks users.
Current RefWorks users: simply log in to your RefWorks account as you have done in the past. The removal of the Group Code will not affect how you normally log in to your account.
What about those new to RefWorks, or distance students?
In some cases the group code will still be needed.

Do you have that App? Explore the Library’s mobile resources page.
August 7, 2013
To create the new mobile resources page we looked at clinical applications and their reviews (without doing extensive ethnographic research) to identify a selection of things we thought might be appealing to our RUMC community. If you’ve discovered an App released last week or last night that eclipses the capabilities of something we have listed and it’s free or nearly free- tell us about it!
CME Credit now Available through UpToDate
November 26, 2012
Two links to UpToDate now appear in the Library’s Quick Links section. Users wishing to obtain CME credit from UpToDate may do so using the link labeled UpToDate (CME). UpToDate provides ACCME credit for free. More information and step by step instructions can be found by clicking this link. To use UpToDate without CME credit, please use the link labeled UpToDate, just as you have in the past.
